For the third line of inquiry, “The role of toys in play” from the unit “How we express ourselves” ,a formative assessment was attempted by the students . A T-chart was created on the floor and students were given various toys and pictures of games, which they sorted according to the timeline of games i.e. games that were played earlier and games that they would play currently. Students celebrated “Play day” where the play area was set up with different games and they were given a choice to choose the game of their choice.

Reinforcement of CVC words and sentences was done through an online game. English was integrated with UOI where students attempted Take and Talk activity on the topic ‘Make a toy and show it off’. They were also assessed on reading short sentences.

Reinforcement of numbers was done from 1 to 20 where students were divided into groups. Each group performed different activities like sequencing numbers, associating quantity, finding odd/even numbers and place value. Students wrote numbers from 1 to 20 in their process journals. Recapitulation of concepts of time and addition was done through an online game and manipulatives respectively.

Students revised the names of animals through a story. Students also attempted a picture bingo of swars as part of summative assessment where the facilitator called out the swar and students circled the picture associated with the respective swar.
