Moving further with the current unit related to stories, students were introduced to the Egyptian version of Cinderella- “Rhodopis” through a book. Students marked Egypt on the world map. Later, students created props and narrated the story through a role play.
The “feelings chart” was updated by marking their reflections about all the stories narrated in the class so far. Each student expressed their feelings by giving an emoji (happy, sad, excited, surprised, and angry) to each story.
They also created props for the Chinese version of Cinderella-“Yeh shen” and participated enthusiastically in the role play.
Students used their analytical skills in understanding the difference between the Chinese and the Egyptian version and created a Venn diagram for comparison.
Reinforcement of backward counting and missing numbers was done through manipulatives.
Students wrote number 6 and 8 in their process journals and drew the corresponding quantity.

Students enjoyed reciting Hindi version of Jingle Bell.
